brotherly manipulation

Lincoln has convinced Daniel that, when it comes to taking turns, the kid who gets the second turn is the "winner" and the kid who gets the first turn is the "loser".

It usally goes something like this:

Lincoln: Well, I guess I'll be the loser. Do you wanna be the winner, Daniel?
Daniel: Yeah!! You can go first so I'm the WINNER!!

Whatever works, eh? Kinda reminds me of when Joe convinced his younger (and richer) brother that they should be "money-buddies".

That sounds like a dead ringer for "Money Buddies." Your boys are hilarious.

Right as my "Money Buddies" partnership with Dr. Benji Hadfield was starting to go somewhere, you two have to cast it in such a negative light.

This cracks me up! My older brother used to "let" me clean his room as a special privilege, etc.

So funny!

That's classic! My mom once convinced her brother to trade her all his dimes for her nickels- (since the nickels were bigger and thus must be worth more).

It seems both Lincoln and Daniel come by it naturally. I was on the Daniel side with Aunt Elaine saying "Jan, you scratch my back until I fall asleep and then I'll scratch yours"...I still can't believe how long I fell for that!

My daughter used to do the same thing to her brothers. Where do kids come up with this stuff? Do you think it's an old trick that's just been passed down by word of mouth at recess for centuries? Or do you think it's just innate? :)
