Needless to say, then, I was pretty darn tootin' excited to find so many fresh ideas at the mommy blog http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/. We haven't tried any of the suggested activities yet (gimme a break though, I found the blog last night after the kids were in bed), but first up on our list will certainly be iceberg painting: freeze a paint/water mixture in some ice cube trays overnight and let the kids paint with the colorful cubes.
I'm on the lookout for great activity ideas. What are your favorite resources (books, websites, blogs, etc.) and what is your all-time favorite activity for keeping house-bound kiddies happy?
Update: I stumbled across www.thetoymaker.com the other day and it made me SO happy. There are a ton of fun free paper toys you can print out and put together. Paper toys? Is that crazy? Nope. Sure, they won't last for more than an afternoon-- but a small paper car we put together a few days ago bought me two and a half hours of peace and quiet. The boys LOVED it. Must. Get. More. Cardstock!!

I gave my cousin a book called, The Everything Toddler Activities Book, and now I'm going to buy one for me because I loved it so much. It has a lot of great ideas. You could probably find it at a library if you could get there without getting lung cancer.
Jordan and I made dog biscuits for my mom's dog for Christmas. It was super easy, and Jordan loved it. We used a variety of cookie cutters so the shapes were cute. Maybe the boys would have fun making Lady a special treat. I don't have the recipe I used (I can keep looking though) but there are tons of different recipes online. Most of them use ingredients that you probably have on hand.
Sorry that's the only idea I have for you right now...
