nothing to do but twiddle our thumbs...

Over the past few weeks and months, I've been a woman possessed. The nesting instinct really hit me hard this pregnancy. Combine that with a bit of Spring Cleaning fever, and you can imagine the flurry of activity. I finished up a little earlier than I thought I would. It's kinda nice to have plenty of time to rest up before baby comes. The only trouble is that I'm now having a very difficult time feeling patient...

When I said possessed, I wasn't kidding. My list 'o nesting included: replacing a toilet, replacing a shower head, replacing our kitchen faucet, decorating the basement (including building some bookshelves), redecorating baby's room, Spring cleaning, prepping diapers, making freezer meals to eat after baby's born, and gathering supplies for the birth (which wasn't that big of a job since our midwife supplies most of them).

My favorite accomplishment was finishing up the baby's room. I love, love, love the way it turned out. Here are some pics: "da fwoots of my wabors" (translation: the fruits of my labors, one of Daniel's favorite phrases for some reason).

The paint color doesn't look quite so blue in person. It's a perfect shade of aqua, which is lovely and appropriately gender neutral. The furniture is kind of pushed out of the way to make room for our birth pool, but you get the idea.

My amazingly talented mother-in-law painted the watercolor. It's a lovely water scene. The Chinese lanterns were a house warming gift from Joe's sister Julie. (thanks ladies!) The changing table is doing temporary duty as the birth supply table and doing a wonderful job.

Our box of birth supplies. Includes all of the non-medical stuff we'll need for the birth (chux pads, newborn hat, cord clamp, foot print kit, snacks, etc.) My midwife will bring the "medical stuff" when she comes (suture kit, oxygen, etc.) You may notice the Triceratops. Daniel thinks we'll need it...

Baby will be in our room for the first couple of months. In the meantime, the crib is a great place to keep the diapers that baby won't grow into for a while. I made the mobile. Looks really cool up close, maybe I'll do a post about it over on my craft blog.

me2 me2,.. I'm having a hard time being patient too. :) Everything looks great. hang in there and go for as many walks as you can stand to help coax it all along. (that's what my mom always did)

I Love Love LOVE that daniel's favorite phrase is "da fwuits of my wabors" I love when little kids pick of big phrases and have speech impediments cause it's so cute!

I've seen this room and it's gorgeous. The paint color is perfect and the mobile is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Can I live in this room or would that be to weird?

since I don't even know the gender yet, the suspense is killing me. I'm taking this silence to possibly mean you've had the baby,.. haha. Hope you'll make at least one quickie post soon after the baby's born so that we can at least know name and gender,... even if you drop off the blogging world for a little while after that. :)
