the final countdown

It's official: today I hit 37 weeks and our baby is considered full-term and welcome to come at any time, although experience tells me thisun'll likely come later than sooner. We've got all our birth supplies together, the baby's room decorated, and a couple of very excited big brothers. Every day Daniel gives the baby a little pep talk and Lincoln gives the belly a big hug.

The boys love our visits with "Midwife Richelle". She always gives them a chance to listen to the baby's heartbeat, or even their own heartbeats if they feel so inclined. I love my midwife too, for oh-so-many reasons, but the biggest right now is the fact that starting at 37 weeks she ends our checkups with a massage. I joked at our visit today that I hope I go a couple of weeks overdue and have a long labor if that means I get more massages. (yeah, it was that good) Nice to have something to look forward to every week, eh?

Anyone in the mood for a little wager? Because it's time to make your official guesses as to when this kid shows up and how much it'll weigh. Sorry, no prizes for the closest answer, just the satisfaction of being right.

I'm guessing March 20th and nine lbs. even.

I'm so glad I checked this before going to bed. What a cute picture. We're so excited here! I'm going to break with tradition because I think she is a girl and will provide an unexpected twist. Sunday, March 15th . . . 9lbs3oz.

What was your birth weight and Joe's? If it's in the 9 lb plus range, I will wager that...but if it's less, then I wager 9 lbs 15 oz. I would say 10, but if it's a girl, I think she'll be a dainty 9. :)

I was 8 lbs. 8 oz. and Joe was somewhere in the 7s. If it helps, Lincoln was 9 lbs. 8 oz. and Daniel was 10 lbs. 2 oz. I've gained just about 30 lbs this time instead of the 50 I gained with each of the boys and my belly is measuring within the range of normal, so we're guessing smaller baby this time. Nine pounds is small? For me, yes. Crazy, I know.

I'm so jealous of your massages! What a fantastic motivation to not mind going past your due date

I want to see pictures of the baby's room!

I think Baby Hadfield #3 is going to show up on March 21st (first day of spring) and be 9lbs 3oz.
